Lynaes Cutter
Why Paul-Henrik?
The way to build the boat is a great family story from Großenbrode. There is a lot of experience in the crack. Not only the Danish boat builder "Henrik" has contributed all his knowledge and craftsmanship, but also the uncle "Paul" (from the client) has contributed his insights of a long life at sea. "Don't take a carrot, take a carrot. Frying pan". According to his knowledge, a ship had to be wide and stable, like a frying pan. Ranke, slender ships were anathema to him. Just carrots! So of course the Lynaes cutter could only be given this name: "Paul Henrik.. Slow because of that? No way! 8 to 9 knots can be possible!

Wood
Oak, teak and mahogany
On the beam keel with 2.2 tons of lead ballast bolted underneath and lashed fore and aft sterns, 18 planks, each 28 mm thick, were clinkered on each side. These are connected to each other with approx. 4000 copper rivets. Thanks to the clinker construction and the permanently elastic jointing agent, the boat does not need to be re-calfed and is permanently watertight. Two layers of 9 mm thick plywood are glued to the deck beams and 10 mm teak decking is laid on top. The superstructure and cockpit are also made of this durable 32 mm thick precious wood. Henrik Jensen had the fittings for the stern, hatches, gaff hatch, rudder bearings and railing supports individually cast in bronze at a small foundry.
High quality and individual
Beautiful extension
The interior was made of mahogany. The plywood bulkheads were covered with staff-milled (rounded edges on one side), narrow boards, painted white to bring lightness below deck, and edged with red mahogany strips in traditional yacht construction. She is simply cosy! The boat has headroom, sleeps six, a pump WC room, a handmade cooker with coal drawer, a Taylor's paraffin cooker and oven, a fishing hydraulic autopilot and much, much more! Sold by the pott and pann.

The yacht dedicated its title page (issue 8/96) to the boat and also the Classic Boat reported on the construction of the Lynaes boat (April 1994 issue). The issues are unfortunately already out of print, but you can buy them second-hand. For example here: Link. You are welcome to view the items during a tour of the boat.
