Are you looking for a deck salon yacht, not a lame motor sailer but with a great underwater hull? This Nauticat 35, a moderate long keeler with rudder at the skeg, offers an incredible amount of space and comfort. For a great time at sea and in the harbour, whatever the weather.
Interior
What an aft cabin
Okay, normally we start on the outside of an exposé, but here we have to make an exception: This aft cabin is simply amazing. A huge bed, which you often don't find on 45-foot boats. Very comfortable, enough windows to open, and also an en-suite bathroom with shower possibility. The forward cabin also has its own bathroom with shower.
Moderate long keel
Deck saloon - and still not a typical motor glider
Often deck saloon yachts are motor sailors - not so this one. The Nauticat 35 is a real cruising yacht. Moderate long keel with rudder at the skeg, this is in our opinion the best underwater ship there is. The ship runs so much more course-stable than a short keel, and runs better upwind than a long keel. Sure, she's not the fastest horse in the stable - but you get there comfortably, even in heavy weather.
Deck salon
No basement ship
The season on the Baltic Sea is unfortunately quite short. Thanks to the deck salon, it can be longer! On rainy days, you can sit in the harbour with a cup of coffee - not in the cellar, but with a view outside. And if you want to get from A to B in low temperatures, you can do so from the inside steering position.
The Nauticat 35 is in beautiful condition and has been well maintained. The upholstery covers in the forecastle and aft cabin are currently still being cleaned, a few teak plugs have been replaced, and the yard is still touching up the chipped paint on the keel. With an older boat, there are always a few things that can be addressed: The handrails on the deck saloon could be sanded down and painted. There are hairline cracks in one of the brackets on the bathing platform. The gas system should be checked. The one hinge of the deck hatch on the starboard side of the cabin superstructure is no longer fixed as the rivets are torn out. But that was it. The yacht is looking forward to new owners getting started with her.
