This classic long keeler was built over 800 times in Sweden due to its popularity. In 1971, the Vindö was presented for the first time at the boat show in Hamburg. The Yacht wrote at that time (1/1972): "Modern sea cruiser with proven lines for tours and regattas equally suitable; a ship of positive compromises".
Great specimen
Bow thruster - replacement engine - new cake stand
The Vindö 40 runs like on rails. Long keel, that's what it is. The bow thruster makes harbour manoeuvres easier, the more powerful Yanmar 3-cylinder provides enough thrust. A lot has always been invested. The mainsail has only been in use for one week so far.
Below deck
Very cosy
Pristine and cosy with plenty of storage space, the Vindoe 40 presents itself. With 1.80 m headroom and enough sleeping space even for guests, she is ideal for a small family. If you like classic lines and like to sail safely, this could be the right yacht for you.
Teak deck renovation
Unmodified and well maintained
Owned by the current owner since 1985, he has always invested. The teak deck was refurbished in 2019 for over 8000,- Euro, the teak in the cockpit was replaced, a new mainsail was purchased in 2020, a refurbished Yanmar 3-cylinder was installed in 2004, a holding tank was retrofitted....
Of course, this is an older used boat and there is always something to do. The electronics, for example, are not exactly up to date - but do they have to be? It's certainly good enough for the Baltic Sea. A summer berth in Travemünde can most likely be taken over, so nothing stands in the way of sailing this year. The Vindoe 40 is in good condition for its age.
