For worldwide travel
Robust and cosy
The Cumulant 37 is a steel-built Dutch shipyard design by Van De Stadt. This is the version with a centre cockpit, fixed keel and cosy aft cabin accessible from the cockpit. The ship still follows the philosophy of robustness and simplicity. The headsail can be operated from the cockpit as a furling sail, the mainsail protected by mast baskets on the mast and the heavy weather sails with staysail on the removable cutter stay. The wheel steering is without chain, articulated rods connect it to the quadrant. Steering is rarely done by hand on long voyages.
An electric autopilot that goes directly to the quadrant or the windvane control take over this job.

Solid
blue water yacht
The ship is ideal for long journeys. Whether single-handed or with a small family, everything you need is on board. The sheltered cockpit with sprayhood and cake hut, the high sea railings, the solid construction and the cosy interior fittings are what make the ship stand out. Slept
The yacht is equipped with aft cabin, forward cabin, dog berth with lee boards (saloon) or saloon table that can be lowered. Cooking is done on the three-burner gas cooker with oven (gas consumption 6/21), heating with the Eberspächer diesel heater and the infrared mirror in the bathroom.
A holding tank is installed as well as a service water tank (300 litres) and an additional drinking water tank (40 litres). You will have to do without hot water, but a pressurised water system is installed, which allows you to take a shower on deck in warm areas. The interior lighting
is equipped with halogen bulbs and the position lights with LED bulbs (except steamer/deck light).
Reliable
Vetus 4.14
The engine is a Vetus 4.14 based on a Mitsubishi with 1915 operating hours. Dual circuit cooled with 4 cylinders and large displacement for the power. Designed for longevity. It is not a high-bred turbo diesel, but smooth and reliable. It starts immediately, does not smoke, has an emergency start function (works without electricity), a temperature warning system (measures the exhaust gases) and a semi-automatic extinguishing system. The engine feet and shaft were replaced in 2018/19, a new gearbox was installed in approx. 2016 and the heat exchanger was replaced in approx. 2015. It runs!

There is no repair backlog. The owner has constantly maintained and renewed the ship. For example, all sea valves were renewed in 2018/19, a Raymarine autopilot was installed (2013/14), the Windpilot Pacific was purchased (2010/12), the stays and shrouds were renewed (2008), the underwater hull was sandblasted and sealed with epoxy in 2014, a new mainsail (2016) and a new genoa (2013) were purchased, etc. Deficiencies? The display of the log is losing luminosity, the life raft should be serviced and the deck could do with a bit of paint in the eyes of the owner (couldn't find anything). The boat is delivered with fresh anodes and a new coat of antifouling, ready to sail in the water.
